1984
Brian Lowe founded Lowe Construction with a vision to transform residential construction in Bayside. Established on the principles of meticulous attention to detail and community involvement, these pillars remain just as relevant today as they were 40 years ago.
2002
Winning the HIA Medium Density Development award for townhouses in 2002 brought widespread recognition and fuelled the company’s growth.
2010
Matt Lowe, Brian’s eldest son, was promoted to co-director. Together, they sought to offer a seamless experience for clients by providing comprehensive residential services—from consultation and design to construction and aftercare. This vision led to the formation of Lowe Architecture, pioneering the ‘Design & Build’ model that has since redefined the industry in the Bayside area.
2011
The business has earned recognition and respect from industry professionals, suppliers, contractors, the local community, and council members. Brian Lowe was honoured with Kingston City Council’s ‘Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award’ for his service to the community.
“We are a company who has always been dedicated to excellence and giving back to the community and being involved is part of what we do.”
2016
Our luxury custom home in Mt Martha won the 2016 HIA Eastern Victoria Custom Built Home award in the $1 – $2M category.
This accolade not only highlights the quality of our work but paves the way for more single custom residences to feature in future projects, solidifying our position as a local market leader in design, construction, and real estate.
Our loyal team, along with our dedicated suppliers and trades, continues to be instrumental to the success of the business.
“It was a pleasure to work with Lowe, with great attention to detail in every aspect. We absolutely love our home!”
2017
Local community involvement remains a cornerstone of the business, and the Lowe Foundation was established to formalise and enhance the company’s engagement with various initiatives while better communicating these causes.
To recognise the ongoing commitment to charitable partnerships that support community well-being through both time and financial contributions, a gala event was organised to celebrate these efforts.
The Lowe Foundation currently supports the following programs:
- Outside The Locker Room
- Family Life Charity Organisation
- Isabella and Marcus Foundation
- Major Sponsor of the Chelsea Rotary & Art Show
“Seeing the positive impact and difference these programs, we support, make to the youth and program participants is absolutely rewarding.”
2018
Following the planned family succession, Matt Lowe became the sole Director and now leads a dynamic team of 50. A brand refresh further reinforces the company’s reputation as leaders in custom home design and high-quality construction services, specialising in single residences and townhouse developments.
A new office in Mordialloc brings the design and construction teams under one roof, enhancing efficiency and ensuring a seamless experience throughout the entire project journey.
2019
Lowe Design & Build has created a highly collaborative and personalised process for delivering high-end custom homes and duplex townhouse developments. This approach, along with the company’s strong reputation, has resulted in many repeat clients and significant referrals.
To further support Lowe homeowners throughout their property journey, a Real Estate initiative was launched, offering a new suite of services.
2022
With the unwavering support and generosity of its dedicated trades and suppliers, the business has partnered with Family Life to undertake an exciting project on Green Parade, Sandringham. The project’s success enabled them to raise funds in support of vulnerable families and children in Bayside.
2023
Lowe Home Servicing was established to provide comprehensive follow-up care, ensuring that every home performs and looks its best. This exclusive service, available to all Lowe Design & Build homeowners, signifies our commitment to enhancing the homeownership experience.
Our contemporary Art Deco luxury custom home in Black Rock was named the winner of the HIA Victorian Custom Built Home award in the $2 million – $3 million category. This bespoke residence showcases an extensive array of high-end features crafted to fulfil every one of our client’s requirements.
“We have people stop in the street to tell us how much they love our house… but most importantly we love it and will happily live in our dream home for a long time to come.”
2024
Lowe Design & Build continues to deliver stunning designs, meticulous attention to detail, and a steadfast commitment to achieving exceptional finishes. With a long-standing, dedicated team, a robust trade network, and a reliable supplier base, the business thrives and is well-positioned for further growth. Most importantly, it remains focused on creating exceptional residences for its loyal client base, consistently designing and building dream homes that exceed expectations.
