Timeless coastal living.

Conceived as a long-term coastal sanctuary for an active young family, this beachfront residence responds to a unique site with uninterrupted Port Phillip Bay views and direct access to the sand. The brief required a home that would evolve gracefully over time, balancing everyday practicality with a refined architectural presence, while withstanding the challenges of a coastal environment. A contemporary design language guided the project, emphasising natural light, indoor/outdoor living, and a material palette that references the textures and tones of the seaside.

The home’s sculptural curved form softens the built expression and amplifies its connection to the coastline, creating a sense of movement that echoes the surrounding landscape. Inside, layered materials like Venetian plaster, reeded glass, artisanal tiles, brass, and warm oak flooring, bring depth and texture to each space.

The open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area is anchored by a spectacular, curved CDK Taj Mahal clad island bench and seamless batten detailing, flowing to two undercover decks that enhance year-round entertaining and frame panoramic water views. Throughout both levels, abundant glazing ensures a continuous dialogue with the bay, while carefully considered privacy measures protect the wellness zone, complete with pool, spa, sauna, and gym.

Across three bedrooms, three bathrooms plus powder, and three distinct living zones, the home offers a flexible layout designed to adapt as the family grows. Durable, low-maintenance materials were selected for longevity, ensuring the residence remains resilient and beautiful through the decades. The result is an elegant, grounded home, crafted with the collaborative expertise of Hamilton Landscapes, External Affairs, Kmode Interiors, and Apex Pools and Spas.
