Designed as a dual-purpose development, this project enabled the landowner to create a lifestyle-focused residence for themselves while simultaneously building a second dwelling as an investment property.

Located in a highly sought-after Beaumaris street, the development required a thoughtful architectural approach that balanced strong market appeal with a home tailored specifically to the owner’s long-term needs. The design response celebrates modernity, individuality, and functionality, with each townhouse crafted to present its own distinct character.

Both homes were conceived with unique exterior identities: one featuring sculptural wave-form timber panelling, the other defined by a layered roofline that adds depth and rhythm to its façade.

Inside, the architectural layouts were shaped by orientation and the natural fall of the land, resulting in light-filled interiors enhanced by clerestory windows and thoughtful spatial planning. Interior designer Fiona Austin collaborated closely with Lowe Design & Build, bringing layered warmth, contemporary materiality, and a refined sense of cohesion to each home while ensuring both dwellings reflect their individual personalities.

The outcome is a successful, future-focused development that allows the landowner to enjoy their custom residence while retaining a beautifully resolved investment property within a tightly held coastal neighbourhood.
