IMF | Walter & Eliza Hall Institute Lab Visit

20191010_195102_1200x800

October 9th – We had a fantastic opportunity to see firsthand the inspirational research being done into DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma – cancer occurring in the brainstem, most frequently in children under the age of 12 years) at Walter & Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research during a fascinating lab tour with Misty Jenkins & her team. They have a very dedicated team working on research projects and continue to make significant steps towards a cure – there has not been any change in the treatment of DIPG for the past 30 years.

It’s exciting to see this progress, and very moving that the people driving this are the parents of the foundation’s namesakes (Isabella & Marcus) who this disease has taken.

It was an eye opener to witness how The Lowe Foundation’s on-going support of the Isabella & Marcus Foundation impacts this ground-breaking research.

Happy to support such inspiring work!
